"It got my attention. I like it!"
- Charlie Daniels
"As a pair, Cantley’s revered approach to musicianship creates an expansive soundscape within the country-sphere. Rae’s brazen vocals transform poetic lyrics into something nearly palpable for the listener."
- American Songwriter
Founded by violinist Lucy Cantley and complimented by the sultry vocals of Camille Rae, Calamity Jane’s classical roots redefine genre with a fresh take on Alternative Country.
Their first single, a cover of “Devil Went Down to Georgia,” encountered great success, including a “thumbs up” from Charlie Daniels himself. Amassing over 120,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, subsequent music has been featured on major Spotify editorial playlists like Wild Country, Fresh Finds, Next from Nashville, and New Music Friday Country.
Though the duo encountered frequent viral success on TikTok, they have recently sworn off social media and are adamant about focusing on what matters most; the music. Their podcast, “Why Aren’t You Famous Yet?” explores their reasons for leaving social media behind, their current take on the music industry, lessons learned, and renewed priorities.
Cantley and Rae’s further accomplishments include opening for Maddie & Tae, Diamond Rio, Keith Anderson, and more.
Like their namesake, Calamity Jane is determined to challenge the status quo by being unapologetically themselves.
